I remember him as he came over to our house weekly. He always had candy in his mouth. I don't recall a day that he came by when he didn't say, " What do you say Ape!", and give me some licorice. He will be missed!

Doby was a cousin and a friend, we grew up on neighboring farms in Arkansas. We spent time as cousins/brothers are whole lives. Though later in life we have lived in different parts of the country we still stayed in contact with each other. Blessings to his siblings and other family members.

James Doby was a warm, loving and giving person who never let a single person he knew be forgotten. I forward my condolences to the Doby and Thomas family as James make his final steps into the loving arms of his beloved mother Alberta and Grandmother Mattie. Doby, as I frequently called him, we will walk across the bridge again sometime in the future. May Jehovah God grant you the peace of mind you so deserve. Cousin Almer
