Mrs. Evelyn Stewart was born September 6, 1918 to the late Chancey Woodie and Isabelle Ells in Lakeview, Arkansas. Surrounded by her loving and devoted family, she entered her eternal home April 10, 2019 in Mabelvale, Arkansas.

Evelyn was raised in Snow Lake, Arkansas and loved it there until she moved to West Helena, Arkansas in 1971 where she resided until her demise.

Evelyn united in Holy Matrimony to Buford Stewart in 1937. To this union one daughter, Ethel was born.

Evelyn affectionately known to her family as “Lena” to everyone else, “Mrs. Stewart;” asked and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Savior over 50 years ago. A few of her passions were going to church, participating in any church function and serving the Lord. She was a faithful member even when her health began to decline. This did not stop her from enjoying and loving good singing and preaching of God’s precious word. She truly loved the Lord with all her heart and soul.

Evelyn was devoted to her family. She loved her family and always looked forward to spending any time or occasion with them. She was very outspoken and stood firm in her belief of telling the truth no matter what.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and one sister.

Evelyn leaves to cherish her memories one loving and devoted daughter; Ethel Wright, one adopted daughter; DeLoris Stewart, one brother; Percy Watkins, three grandchildren; Robert Blake, Sr., Jenell Wright, LaToya Wright, four great grandchildren; Robert Rashard Blake, Jr., Kaylee Hudson, Kaylar Griffin, Kaleb Lewis, a special friend; Lucinda Thomas, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
