Visitation will be held Friday, January 7, 2022 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home Chapel, West Helena, Arkansas from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 225 Ladino Street, West Helena Arkansas. Interment will follow immediately at Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Lexa Arkansas. We will follow CDC guidelines:  mask, hand sanitizer, and the social distance standard of 6ft apart.

Earnestine “Baby Sook” Kirkwood was born to the parents of Robert and Rosie Kirkwood on February 28, 1951. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at a young age. Baptized as a child and as an adult. Earnestine was a private individually who kept to herself. She was loving and accepting to all who crossed her path. Sook was patient and kind until you struck a nerve; she had no problem with telling you how she felt. Sook’s occupations included working at Helena Chemical Plant and a private caregiver. She enjoyed providing services to others, working crossword puzzles, reading Biblical books, listening to people and music, loving unconditionally, and keeping the peace.

Baby Sook transitioned to her heavenly home December 26, 2021 at Helena Regional Medical Center, Helena – West Helena, Arkansas.

Left to cherish Sook’s memories five sons; David Kirkwood, Sr. of Little Rock AR, Deck (Brittany) Thompson, Jr. of Graham WA, Darron Kirkwood, Sr. of Gosnell AR, Michael (India) Kirkwood, Sr. of Milton FL, Roger Kirkwood of Little Rock AR, one daughter; Tameka Kirkwood of West Helena AR, four grandsons, thirteen granddaughters, five sisters, two brothers, five aunts, two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and a host of family and friends.

Welcoming Earnestine through the gates of eternity are parents; Robert and Rosie Kirkwood, grandparents; Maggie Kennedy, Richard Wilson, Ida Smith, sisters; Shirley Kirkwood, Angela Hope Hall, brothers; Tommie Kirkwood, Sr., Eugene Kirkwood, Sr., Donald Kirkwood, and Dennis Kirkwood.
