Visitation will be held Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home Chapel, West Helena AR from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. Due to our Federal and State COVID-19 guidelines; this is a walk through visitation - we will only allow individuals to view 10 at a time. Face masks, temperature checks and hand sanitizing are required at door for entry.

Ineal Knowlton, Sr. was born November 6, 1944 to the late Sandy and Annie Knowlton, Sr. He was the fifth child of thirteen. Ineal received Christ at an early age at Allen Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church, West Helena, Arkansas. Throughout the years he faithfully served in many capacities within the church and remain steadfast in his Christian journey.

Ineal loved work and life. He worked hard each and every day. He found enjoyment in helping others who were in need. He was of the life the party and he loved listening to the Blues. He would dance until he just could not dance anymore. He never met a stranger. His spirit made those who encountered him feel like family. Considered a “Barbecue Master,” he looked forward to cooking at family gatherings and community events to showcase his skills.

In his own right, Ineal was a leader in Phillips County and surrounding areas. He took pride and ownership in the “Knowlton” name. He established Knowlton Plumbing Service and successfully operated his business for 55 years. He also was the Helena – West Helena City Inspector for many years until his health declined. Ineal was an outstanding citizen of Phillips County. During his lifetime, he has answered “the call” of many throughout this community whenever needed.

November 2, 2001, Ineal united in Holy Matrimony to Irma Pullum. Their union of 20 years lovingly blended their families.

On Tuesday, February 2, 2021 surrounded by his loving family, Ineal received his heavenly call.

Ineal is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Peter, Sandy Jr., Earl, Hosea, Joseph Knowlton, and a sister; Martha Ann Knowlton Trotter.

Ineal leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife; Irma Jean Knowlton of West Helena AR, his children, his siblings; Annie (Harry) Lindsey, Ruth (James) Mooney, Ella McGinister, Mary Davis, Catherine (Reverend Andrew) Gibson, Elizabeth Cross, his grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
