Visitation will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home Chapel, West Helena, Arkansas from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Jackson - Highley Funeral Home Chapel, West Helena Arkansas at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately at Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Lexa Arkansas. Alexander Dewayne Hawkins was born March 18, 1974 to the late Andrew and Eula Mae Hawkins, Sr. in Helena, Arkansas. He departed this earthly life November 15, 2021 at Mercy Saint Annes Hospital, Toledo Ohio.

Alexander affectionately known as “Alex,” accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age at Truevine Missionary Baptist Church, West Helena Arkansas under the leadership of the late Reverend G.G. Brown. He continued his Christian journey until his demise.

Alex received his formal education within the Helena – West Helena School District, Helena – West Helena, Arkansas.

Alex was an honest man with a kind spirit. He loved to sing and dance to his blues music. He worked hard and loved even harder. He raised three children from a previous marriage and was a strong influence amongst others.

Alex was preceded in death by his parents; Andrew and Eula Mae Hawkins, Sr., and a brother; Robert Hawkins.

Alex leaves to cherish a fiancée; Lisa Burns, two biological daughters; Kendra, LaKendra, five stepdaughters; Charlene, Alisha, Deadra, E’lissa, Alacia, one stepson; Charles, five brothers; Andrew Hawkins, Jr., Eddie Lee (Velma) Hawkins, Eugene Hawkins, John Wesley (Rita) Hawkins, Calvin Leon Hawkins, nine sisters; Betty (James) Nelson, Erma Lee Hawkins, Earline Ishola, Annie Mae Rembert, Cora Mae Hawkins, Bobbie Banks, Evvie Hawkins, Willie Mae Williams, Eula Mae Hawkins, and a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
